David and Priya Nute are the proud founders of The Structured Garden, providing enthusiastic gardeners in residential settings with self-watering planters and stunning landscape designs.
With 25+ years of experience in the landscape industry under his belt, Dave is a trained professional in garden design and installation. As an elementary teacher and avid gardener, Priya values the innovation behind their custom planter design. Excited to share their collective knowledge, Dave and Priya are ready to help you create the perfect outdoor landscape to fit your family's needs.
Sowing the seeds:
The idea that led to our best-selling planters
Priya, being an experienced gardener, was using up a lot of her energy and resources tending to their vegetable garden. Asking for help from her husband and landscape specialist, Dave, the two of them looked into potential options that could make watering the plants simpler. They came across two choices - either a top-down irrigation system, or a bottom-up reservoir system. They chose the latter as it would require only filling up the reservoir once in a while without any of the water going to waste. It worked out perfectly, and they wanted to expand their garden!

But while self-watering planters existed, Priya and Dave found they were small and designed for limited spaces and function. This left out an entire population of people who grow vegetable gardens.

With Dave's expertise in landscape/garden design, and their combined innovative nature, they decided to create the solution. Thus, The Structured Garden was developed!

Learn a little bit about us...
David spends his time earning his Landscape Architecture Degree from Boston Architectural College and playing the ukulele. Priya enjoys spending her time being active outside and cultivating her vegetable garden. Together as a family with their daughters and dog, they enjoy spending time in their vegetable garden, making smores at their fire pit, walking in the woods, swimming, travelling, and trying new restaurants.
Our Goals:
Our hope is that people will be able to experience the best parts of gardening, the satisfaction of growing plants and bringing life to new spaces without having the frustration and stress of watering maintenance.
